The Beauty of the Dogwood Posted by Hello

Dogwood Tree/ Cross

As one legend goes, at the time of Christ's crucifixion,
the dogwood tree was as tall as the oak and other forest trees.
Its wood was so strong and firm that it was chosen for the cross.
The tree was very distressed to be used for such a purpose
and Jesus understood.
He told the tree, "Because of your regret and pity for my suffering,
I promise this: never again shall the dogwood tree grow large enough to be used for a cross.
Henceforth it shall be slender and bent and twisted, and its blossoms shall be in the form of a cross.
And in the center of the outer edge of each petal there will be nail prints.
And in the center of the flower, brown with rust and stained with blood, will be a crown of thorns
so that all who see it will remember it was upon a dogwood tree that I was crucified,
and this tree shall not be mutilated nor destroyed,
but cherished and protected
as a reminder of my agony and death upon the cross."

My Friend Randall Posted by Hello

My Friend Needs Help

My name is Randall Spann Cordle. Due to the circumstances of my birth and directly after my birth I have cerebal palsy.

I have lived most of my live in Summerville, I graduted from high school in Summerville. I am a college graduate. I went to work out of college and have held a few different jobs in my field of study.

I want to be more independent from my brother and his family. I have been looking into a service dog for the past few months to try to realize my dream again of having one. I have tried national organizations and the waiting list is 18 months or more. I have tried private ones and the cost is to great. I have found a dog that will fit my needs it is now up to getting the money to make it all happen.

I just am trying to get my story out and praying a few willing souls will help me.I have set up a pay pal account if you prefer to use pay pal to make a donation towards the purchase of the dog or I have set up an account at a local bank for donations which are tax deductible. I provided a direct link to the bank but if you are interested in mailing a donation the information is: United Community Bank, 9699 Rome Blvd., Summerville, Georgia 30747. Phone number 706-857-9245.

Poem: Cute As They Could Be Posted by Hello

Cute As They Could Be

Once upon a time
there were two little girls
who were cute as they could be
~
The first was born in Virginia
and the other was born in Georgia several years later
~
As the years passed
much laughter and tears were shared
but, neither shared with the other
~
Now, these two little southern belles grew with grace and charm
still not knowing what they really missed
for they were without the other
~
Finally came the day
in the strangest of ways
in the strangest of places
they met
only still not knowing
just how close they were to be
~
They told of their life as they grew
laughed at the joys and
cried at their sorrows
only to find their bond had always been closely weaved
~
Now, it wasn't by chance
for it was meant
that these two little southern belles
cute as they could be
were the very best friends
that could be.

Poem: To Give Posted by Hello

To Give

Whisper my name
And I will hear your soft voice
Softly sing within my ear
And I will hear your song
As you cradle me in your arms
Touch my heart so that I will know
Your Love
For I stand before you to give

Peace Posted by Hello

My Thoughts on Forgiveness

Forgiveness is very hard to do when one has hurt or betrayed your relationship.
However, you know in your heart when to trust that forgiveness and work though problems.
No one has lived a perfect life not making mistakes toward another whether it be your parents, friends, lover/spouse. Over time we too went through the process of growing up and weeding through actions that were not acceptable. In this, I believe we can understand others when they fail in being loyal, respectable and honest toward the relationship with you.
Each situation is different and one has to weigh the possibility of "is this person going to do this to me again? and do I wish to get over the transgression and show the unconditional love by giving and trying to trust once more?"
Trust can be had over time ONLY when the transgressor has shown that they have changed and won't disrespect the relationship, no matter the temptations.
Building a relationship is very hard when two people come together not knowing the values and structure of the moral makeup of the other fully. You always think after many months of talking and getting to know one another that you do know the person however, until you live with the person and both have to adjust to the other completely, do you find that there are things not said and/or perhaps missed along the line.
In all honesty, no one likes to show the "bad" " side of the past failed relationships and is "trying" to put the "best foot forward" in starting this new one. I am rambling, however, what I really want to say is that no matter the relationship, if you don't have respect for yourself and give that loyalty, honesty, commitment to your relationship then you can't expect it from the partner. I believe in un-conditional love however, I don't believe in being one's doormat or nursemaid for the times when they "have to have a place" to satisfy their own ego and self-centeredness. I believe people do change with maturity and in a loving atmosphere, no matter how hopeless it may seem. Takes a strong person to hold on while waiting for someone to grow up to your level of maturity.
Then, there are times to be strong and walk away. Whether it is an abusive relationship, loveless relationship, or meaningless relationship. It may be very hard to do however;
there is a time to stop being one's mental, verbal, physical bunching bag.
Always remember,
"Actions speak louder than words"
No matter how sweet and sincere the words may sound.

Rose In My GardenPosted by Hello

Favorite Activities

Life has just so many enjoyable things to do and see.
I have traveled from the east coast to the west coast; mainly to historical towns and the beach.
The mountains are great along the rivers and lakes to camp.
Gold panning, hiking, camping, rock hunting along with herbs and wild flowers.
My garden is my peaceful place of solitude where I do most of my meditating.
I am proud of my new garden addition filled with roses my fiance' gave to me
when we first met in May 2002.
I enjoy needlepoint, painting, reading, writing poetry and
hope to do a novel someday on the characters
I have roleplayed with over the internet back in 1997.
I love moonlight walks especially on the beach,
sitting under the stars,
listening to the ocean or
the breeze rustling the leaves
under a canopy of old trees in the woods.
My collectibles not only include art but cobalt glass which is found throughout my home
and the older Nancy Ann dolls.

People & Cultures

Over the years, I have found people to be very interesting and always there is something new to learn by them, their cultures, their backgrounds, their feelings.
I laugh within myself as I say that my learning has come actually from the internet on message boards and chat rooms.
So many people to voice their views, feelsings, pleasures, and even built up hates.
My heart is full of emotions for each and everyone on an individual basis.
No two are created alike for we have differences but then are they really different?

Literature

My favorite writers are
Eugenia Price, Anne Rice, Victoria Holt and Angela Alexia.
I enjoy historical novels
for much of history I find interesting and learning the past is fun.
In the recent years started reading a lot of the new age fantasy novels with
Terry Brooks, Robert Jordan and David Eddings.
My lastest find is Angela Alexia
who was a high school friend of mine.

Music

My favorite is that of romatic songs, classical, new age, sounds of nature, celtic and soft jazz.
I enjoy Yanni, Chris Issac, Billy Ocean, Celine Dion, Julio Iglesias,
Whitney Houston, Bette Miller and others.
I really enjoy soundtracts to many movies.
"The Dance" by Garth Brook
Has a special meaning for me.
It seems a sad song, for this one to find a true love
but for those that only play the game and failed.

Art

My favorite artist are those of many periods.
Sir Lawrance Alma-Tadema and other pre-raphaelites.
In my private collection, I have a local southern artist,
John Kollock
who does watercolors.
I enjoy art galleries and museums.
I enjoy to paint with acrylic and oils and would like to relearn waterclotors.

Who Am I

I was raised in the south. Like all little girls of that time, I was raised as a submissive. Not knowing what this was and I really doubt now as I look back on the male society, perhaps they didn't wish to name it as such or even admit it.
I was raised to be polite, speak when spoken to, serve with grace. My life as a child was somewhat easy however I was raised by a dominant and strict father. There was a time as all teenagers that I was rebellious for I did not feel the love of my parents. My grandparents were the love that I needed, however, I lost my grandfather when I was about 14 and felt the world was ending.
Therefore ended my childhood.

He Promised Me A Rose Garden

Have you ever taken the time to walk through a Rose Garden?
Walked it alone through the peace of beauty growing?
Through the beauty of color, texture and fragrance
The sun has just come over the horizon
There is just enough to light the garden
You are speechless at the radiant beauty of the morning dew
The delicate little drops which lie there
On the pedals just glimmering from the awakening light
It is the most magnificent when you are alone
It is quiet, peaceful and
you
also find
Him
Like the dew on the rose
There are tears in your eyes
When you awaken to
His presence
Can you feel Him?
The dew knows
As the rose knows
And even the sun knows
They have always known that
He awaits
In the garden for you
This is why the sun is clearly bright
The roses are radiant with thorns smiling color and sweet fragrance
The dew, the tiny dew which sparkles like crisp ice
On a cold southern morning
There is no doubt
feel
His presence
Each morning is a new sparkling awakening
Before you begin your day
Wake up as the rose garden does
Knowing
Knowing He is there
He did promise you a Rose Garden
As the thorns of trial and tribulation
Struggle to hold you down,
Bring forth from the dept of your memories
He promised you a Rose Garden
